By Underground
Running 20 hours a day, every day and serving all parts of central London, the Underground (or Tube) is one of the easiest ways to travel. The map Shows the Underground divided into six fare zones, with Zone 1 covering central London. Your ticket must be valid for all the zones your journey covers.
By bus
One of the most enjoyable ways to see London is from the top deck of a London bus. The map of central London shows many places of interest, all of which are easily accessible by bus.
By Train
The National Rail companies operate an intensive service of train services throughout London and it's suburbs. These can take you from Hampton Court to Chislehurst Caves, Wembley Stadium to Greenwich. Take a look at the detailed map!
Docklands Light Railway
The Docklands Light Railway (DLR) runs through the Docklands and Canary Wharf from Bank and Tower Gateway to the Cutty Sark at Maritime Greenwich. It also serves Stratford, Beckton and Lewisham and of course a direct link into London City Airport.
By boat
Daily riverboat services operate from most central London piers. Services go to Greenwich and the Thames Barrier in the east and, during the summer, as far as Hampton Court in the west. Your London Travelcard is not accepted on riverboat services, however it does give you a one-third discount on buying tickets for scheduled river services. Just show your London Travelcard when booking.
Night time travel
The Underground and day time buses run until approximately 00.30. After this time, an extensive system of Night buses serve the city. Most Night bus routes start with the letter 'N', plus some daytime routes are in fact 24-hours (denoted by a crescent moon shape next to the route number at bus stops). Certain rail routes also operate a 24-hour service.
